Dora
was born in Paris. In 1948 she enrolled at the Anglo French Art
Centre in London. She married George Swinford-White at the Centre.
Her paintings owe much to her imagination, often painting
children, family scenes and of course the 'lover', all of which are
memories of her childhood.
Her work is very poetic and charming and is collected all over the
world, not only in private collections, also in museums such as
the Jewish Museum in London, The Museum of Art in Haifa and the
Museum of Art in Glasgow.
She paints her characters in a very simple, elegant, and bold
style. She is now in her eighties. |
